Transportation:

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus is served by the University of Illinois Willard Airport (CMI) on the outskirts of Champaign. Flights into and out of CMI are by American Airlines and American Connection, Delta Connection (Comair) and Northwest Airlink. It is also possible to fly into the Bloomington, IL airport which is served by United Express (from Chicago O'Hare) and AirTran (from Atlanta) but Bloomington is a one hour drive and a car rental would be mandatory.

Non-stop flights are available from St. Louis, Chicago O'Hare, Cincinnati, and Detroit.

More competitive air fares are usually available into and out of Chicago O'Hare airport and Champaign-Urbana is typically less than a 3 hour drive. If flying directly into CMI, the major car rental companies have outlets at CMI.

For those wishing to drive, Champaign-Urbana is at the junction of three major interstate highways: I-74, I-57 (to Chicago) and I-72. Chicago, St.Louis, and Indianapolis are all less than a three hour drive down one of the three mentioned interstate highways.

And for anyone worried about it, while it is possible there could be some chilly weather, it is also quite possible that the weather will be "balmy" and "spring like", so bring appropriate clothing for either eventuality.
